The former boss of British Gas has returned to the UK to take over the helm of struggling Mitie.

Phil Bentley will replace Tory peer Ruby McGregor-Smith who quit just weeks after the security and cleaning staff supplier posted a shock profit warning.

While Bentley’s pay package has not been disclosed it is likely to mirror the £2.5million McGregor-Smith took home last year.
