STORY: Amateur video posted to Facebook capture the moment on Tuesday (Oct. 11) when gunmen opened fire on worshipers at a shrine in the Afghan capital Kabul.
An unknown number of assailants entered the shrine where people had gathered to commemorate a major Islamic holy day, police officials said.
A police official, who asked not to be named as he was not authorized to speak publicly, said at least seven people had been killed and 22 wounded, with the toll expected to rise.
Ministry of Public Health officials said at least 18 people injured in the attack had been taken to hospitals in the city for treatment.
The attack began just before 8 p.m. (3:30 p.m. GMT), police said, with witnesses reporting an explosion followed by gunfire.
