The investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia took a dramatic turn this week with the appointment of a special prosecutor, former FBI Director Robert Mueller, to lead an independent probe into the matter.

The development capped off a turbulent few days that left both parties scrambling for answers – from President Trump’s decision last week to fire FBI Director James Comey, to Comey’s memo of a meeting with the president, which suggested the president pressured him to drop the investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Will the appointment of a special prosecutor allow the Trump administration and congressional Republicans to refocus on their agenda? Or does it guarantee the Russia investigation will remain front page news for the foreseeable future? And on the eve of President Trump’s first foreign trip, how might the controversy affect Trump’s international reception?

Sunday on “Face the Nation,” we’ll talk to a prominent member on the Senate Intelligence Committee Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida. We’ll ask the Senator, who ran against President Trump in the 2016 race, how has Comey’s dismissal has impacted that committee’s investigation.

We’re also joined by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-California, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee.  We’ll ask the Californian senator about the Russia investigation and how Democrats are approaching the Trump agenda.
