The International Olympic Committee has stripped hammer thrower Tatyana Lysenko of the gold medal she won at London 2012 as part of its re-testing programme of samples from the 2008 and 2012 Games.
Using the latest detection techniques, a stored urine sample from the 33-year-old Russian tested positive for the anabolic steroid turinabol.
Lysenko, who served a two-year drugs ban between 2007 and 2009, is reported to have failed another test in April this year. A world champion…
