Police investigate 2 armed robberies where iPhones, cash were stolen in Garden Grove

GARDEN GROVE – Police are investigating two armed robberies that occurred near each other Monday night, authorities said.

In the first holdup, which happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 14000 block of Euclid Street, a man says two other men wearing hoodies and masks climbed into his parked car and robbed him at gunpoint, said Sgt. Vincente Vaicaro.

“The suspects fled on foot and got away with the victim’s iPhone 6 along with additional items,” Vaicaro said.

The second event happened around 10 p.m. Monday in the 13500 block of Shirley Street, about a half-mile from the first robbery.

The robbery victim told officers he was meeting someone about buying an iPhone 7, Vaicaro said. As the meet-was happening, two men wearing hoodies and “zombie masks” approached, the victim told police.
