Outskirts Press is pleased to announce the company is sponsoring the 26th Annual Colorado Book Awards in 2017, celebrating the accomplishments of Colorado authors, illustrators, photographers and editors. The Denver-based book publishing and marketing service company – rated the No. 1 self-publishing company by Top Consumer Reviews – has been helping authors worldwide successfully publish and market books since 2002 and is proud to be an ongoing part of the Colorado Book Awards.
The Colorado Center for the Book, the program department of the Colorado Humanities, runs this the Colorado Book Awards, which is presented annually by Colorado Humanities & Center for the Book. The awards were launched in 1991 with just four categories of awards to recognize authors, illustrators, editors and publishers, and have since expanded to 14 literary categories: Anthology, Biography, Children’s Literature, Creative Nonfiction, General Fiction, General Nonfiction, Genre Fiction, History, Juvenile Literature, Literary Fiction, Mystery, Poetry, Thriller, and Young Adult Literature.
Many of Colorado’s most prominent authors have been recognized with Colorado Book Awards, including Linda Hogan, John Fielder, David Milofsky, Tom Noel and Stephanie Kane, among others. Finalists for the 2017 awards were recently announced and are available on the Colorado Humanities & Center for the Book website. The awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Parker Arts, Culture and Events (PACE) Center in Parker, Colorado, on May 21, 2017.
