While not known for their descriptive patch notes, Nintendo have released a new system download that many will be able to understand.
Version: 3.0.0 started rolling out today in the UK, with the Nintendo Switch update making it much easier to find lost Joy-Cons.
If you lose one that’s already paired, you’ll now be able to track it down by activating the vibration feature.
It’s a pretty simple fix but one which could come in very handy if you’ve had a bunch of people round your place who have been passing them around.
Another nifty change implemented with the latest Nintendo patch is being able to use the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller via wired communication by connecting the USB charging cable.
“Nintendo constantly aims to improve the functionality of its systems and services in order to provide the easiest, most user-friendly experience possible,” a message from the company explains.
“As a part of these efforts, we are making Nintendo Switch system updates available for download via the Internet.
“In most situations, the Nintendo Switch will automatically download the most recent system update while it is connected online.
“You can verify your current menu version and manually start the update from the System Settings menu if necessary.”
As you can see by reading the above, the latest Nintendo Switch update has been all about adding quality of life changes that were missing from the initial launch.
System features as simple as adding a warning message to say that you have insufficient room to download something new, and allowing you to jump to the uninstall screen, won’t be earth-shattering, but will come in very handy.
