Almost half of Britons believe property is the most lucrative way of investing for retirement – almost twice as many as those who think a company pension is the best option, a new survey suggests.
As many as 45 per cent of those surveyed by the Office for National Statistics said property was the best option, a rise from 40 per cent in 2010.
The increase in popularity in property as an investment reflects rising confidence in house prices, the ONS said.
