The EU should suspend all of its free movement rules for 24 hours to prove to Britain how valuable visa-free travel is, Luxembourg’s prime minister has proposed.

Some campaigners want Britain to leave the EU political structures but stay inside the single market – but Mr Bettel said this would mean accepting free movement.
