Ferry crash at Sydney's Circular Quay leaves at least 18 people injured

A ferry crash at Sydney’s Circular Quay has left at least 18 people with minor injuries.

Early reports suggest that some of the passengers may have been thrown to the ground while the boat attempted to dock at wharf four just before 5pm on Tuesday.

One person is believed to have sustained a serious spinal injury following the ferry crash, and is being treated by paramedics.

It’s believed that the vessel, which was travelling from Rose Bay via Garden Island to Circular Quay, failed to slow down and hit a wooden backboard on one of the piers.

Police officers and paramedics are at the scene.
