Chief Advancement Officer Hiring Press Release

Worldreader, a global nonprofit that champions digital reading in underserved communities, announced today that it has hired Taleb Salhab as Chief Advancement Officer. This newly created position will oversee the organization’s revenue, communications, and strategic partnership programs and is responsible for advancing adoption of the organization’s innovative model of reading promotion.

With the hiring of Salhab, Worldreader will for the first time establish a formal presence in the Washington, DC area. This strategic decision will enable the organization to strengthen its ties with the international development community and to more effectively engage with key stakeholders in government, private sector, think tanks, multilateral donor agencies and the foundation community.    

Salhab joins Worldreader as an accomplished international development expert with 24 years of executive leadership experience in education, youth empowerment, civic engagement, institution building and media. Most recently he served as the Vice President of Global Programs for the global development organization IREX, overseeing a $90 million portfolio of programs in over 100 countries. He has also served as Acting CEO, and Vice President of Programs and Affiliate Services at Education for Employment, and Director of the Peace & Security Program for the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. Salhab’s proven track record in successfully strengthening and scaling organizations and his extensive experience in forging strategic partnerships with the private sector, private foundations, international development community and governments will allow Worldreader to execute on its strategic plan and make strides towards creating a world where everyone can be a reader.
