British man may face 'involuntary manslaughter' charge after killing migrant in Calais


A British jeweller could face involuntary manslaughter charges after accidentally running over and killing an Eritrean migrant in Calais, it has emerged.

Abraham Reichman, 35, from North London, swerved to try and avoid a gang that was trying to stop traffic on the busy A16 road as he was heading towards the EuroTunnel entrance on Sunday night.

But the jewellery importer, who was on a work trip, could not avoid hitting an Eritrean migrant and his wife who rushed across his path. The refugee died in hospital while his wife suffered broken limbs.
