Spain legend Xavi is hopeful that Scotland can end a 20-year absence from the World Cup by qualifying for the tournament in Russia in two years’ time.
The Scots have not qualified for a major tournament since their group stage elimination in France 98.
They had previously reached the finals of six of seven World Cups between 1974 and 1998 and suffered group-stage exits at Euro 92 and 96.
