8 O.C. restaurant closures include Hometown Buffet, Daphne's and Old Towne Orange candy shop

The latest restaurant closures in Orange County include a handful of eateries operating for less than a year, including Black Box DTSA in Santa Ana.

Here’s the latest closure list:

A Hometown Buffet in La Habra closed Sept. 29. The restaurant’s parent company, Buffets LLC, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year. At that time, the company closed other O.C. locations in Laguna Woods and Santa Ana on Bristol. Auction Nation, an online auction site, said Buffets is closing “weaker restaurants” as part of its restructuring strategy. The company is auctioning off remaining assets of the La Habra restaurant, 1901 W. Imperial Hwy.
